Ledge Products, a subsidiary of GC Products, has introduced its first flagship line of fiber cement shower niches.
The Ledge Shower Niches are made from recycled engineered fiber cement, and designed to sit flush with cement board or plaster wall. The niche’s tapered edges allow for easy water drainage, and its interior surfaces are made for superior bonding with adhesive sealants. Once installed and sealed with thin set or mortar, the niche may be finished with the same surfacing as the rest of the shower space.
Ledge also offers double shower niches, which include two distinct compartments, one on top of the other. According to Ledge, it is one of the first shower niche manufacturers to offer this option.
According to Architectural Digest, shower niches are an “absolute must-have” for new bathrooms. “Often it is the little things that give a home value and improve on its décor,” says Michael Coburn, manager of Ledge Products. “It’s so easy to overlook the bathroom, but in our experience, the effects a shower niche has on the décor can be invaluable.”
