Incorporating commercial trends in the home kitchen is one thing, but architects Theo Adamstein and Olvia Demetriou didn’t stop there. They incorporated ideas for a new spa-gym business they designed into their own master bath. The idea is to incorporate sensuous materials and a calming palette even for work-out or wake-up spaces.
A skylight angled to catch morning rays helps give bathers a wake-up call, while an etched glass wall between shower and master bedroom conveys golden afternoon light. Watery green glass walls, beige limestone tiles, and a cream travertine counter set a soothing scene for a long soak or relaxing rinse under a rainfall showerhead. Corralling toiletries into tidy niches helps maintain serenity while a floating vanity with mirrored cabinets above keeps other necessities out of sight. The bathroom offers the requisite function and comfort plus a little more—Demetriou describes the bath as “a sculpted space with an evocative atmosphere.”
