55places.com has named the On Top of the World active adult community in Ocala, Fla., as its 2019 Community of the Year.

On Top of the World started construction in 1981 and continues to grow today, with a planned 10,000 homes across 13,000 acres. The community offers a wide range of models and home sizes, with 80 villa and single-family home plans available.

Community amenities are spread across six amenity complexes. The Recreation Center includes a restaurant, 1,500 seat ballroom, outdoor pool, dog park, and courts for pickleball, racquetball and shuffleboard. The refurbished Arbor Club offers a fitness center, Olympic-sized pool, and tennis and bocce ball courts, and the Hobby Building offers a variety of arts and crafts activities.

Many of the community’s amenities and home offerings have been updated and refurbished to support modern needs, as well as relevant and meaningful resident engagement, according to the community’s fitness director. In early 201i9, On Top of the World communities announced its plan to partner with Amazon to provide smart home products to new home buyers, including a 10-piece smart tech package powered by Amazon Alexa.

“Homebuyers who are seeking active adult communities are looking for a place that best meets their current interests and potential new hobbies,” says Todd Warshauer, vice president of sales for 55places.com. “On Top of the World continues to invest in its residents’ lives to make sure the homes, amenities, and environment support a healthy, engaging, and active lifestyle.”
