Courtyard Homes at Asbury North Village

1 MIN READ

There is nothing about the Courtyard Homes at Asbury North Village that shouts or even whispers “senior housing.” Instead, the colonial- and craftsman-style residences radiate a high-end vibe that would appeal to any demographic.

Their appeal is universal because, even though the courtyard homes are part of the Asbury Methodist Retirement Community, Torti Gallas pulled the form from regular market housing. “We’ve been developing this courtyard idea in the private sector … at several different price points for the last eight years,” says architect John Torti.

The architects pushed the 43 homesites to the outer edges of the 10.76-acre plot, allowing for front porches close to the street, while creating space in the site’s center for a triangular park. Two-car garages at the rear of the lots make street-facing façades possible.

The homes are between 1,683- to 1,923-square-feet with open plans, two bedrooms, two baths, and a flex space for a den or a third bedroom. The first phase quickly sold out at $550,000 to $850,000. Each of the plans works for those with disabilities with little adaptation necessary.
