At the end of a dead-end street overlooking Green Harbor in Marshfield, Massachusetts, the Harbor Point House by Boston-based Eck MacNeely Architects sits on a prominent point with the Cut River to the west, the harbor to the north, and the beaches and Massachusetts Bay to the east.

With a strong client desire to achieve the best views in all directions, the design team and builder BOJ Construction added a large amount of glass, decks, and a screened-in porch to the 3,800-square-foot home. Plus, a skybridge on the second level connects the children’s and guest bedroom wing with the master bedroom on the opposite side. Intersecting skylights over the bridge were added as a source of light from the south and also provide views up to the home’s observation tower.
Accessible from a second-floor stair and ladder, the tower provides 360-degree views of the picturesque coastal setting. The covered 125-square-foot space features a flagpole, lighting, and speakers to enhance the experience and has become the venue of choice for annual celebrations, including Green Harbor’s Fourth of July fireworks.
