Stone Canyon Loft Homes, Las Vegas

1 MIN READ

WHY IT WORKED: These sophisticated loft homes offered an alternative to the area’s more expected choices, high-rise condominiums and same-style single-family developments. Their contemporary lines and innovative floor plans are a welcome break from the usual sea of red tile roofs and faux Mediterranean architecture.

  • Market research showed that there were more than 31,000 households that fit the target market, which was an eclectic mix of professionals with incomes exceeding $100,000.
  • A presale virtual tour allowed buyers to see everything, including views from an optional third-floor sky deck. Every buyer chose that feature.
  • Two models offer flexible floor plans with one to six bedrooms, one-and-a-half to four-and-a-half baths, roll-up glass doors that open to large courtyards, home theater and casita options, three-car garages, and private backyards.
  • Standard with each plan are stainless appliances, granite countertops, a great-room fireplace, and a courtyard balcony.
  • The gated project is near the master planned community of Summerlin and all of its shopping amenities. The third-floor sky deck offers views of the strip and of the Red Rock National Conservation Area.PROJECT CREDITSProject: Stone Canyon Loft Homes, Las Vegas; Sales started: July 2005; Sales through July 2006: 23; Units planned: 23; Price: $680,000 to $750,000; Unit size: 3,400 to 3,900 square feet; Builder/Developer/Land planner: Blue Heron Cos., Las Vegas; Architect: Marc Lemoine Architecture, Las Vegas; Landscape architects: Landaco Landscaping & Grading, Las Vegas; Nuvis Landscape Architecture, Costa Mesa, Calif.
