Heath Ceramics House Numbers

1 MIN READ

Some of my favorite tiles come from Heath Ceramics, so naturally I was thrilled to hear that the company is co-launching a line of ceramic house number tiles. Even better, they’re teaming up on this venture with House Industries, an internationally known typography company. And to top it all off, the first two offerings in the Heath House Numbers line are fonts that celebrate two (actually, three) legends of architecture, Richard J. Neutra and Charles & Ray Eames. The classic Neutra typeface has been available in metal for years, but by making it in ceramic tile, the two companies have opened up a new world of design possibilities. And the Eames typeface was designed by House Industries, in close collaboration with the Eames family and using the resources of the Eames archive. (Examples of the Eames house number tiles are shown here.) Both will be available at the end of April from the three Heath stores in California, as well as on www.heathceramics.com.
