Many California municipalities have made headlines in recent years for hiking developer fees sky high, but not Fresno: Its bargain-basement fees have held steady for decades. But a new plan, adopted by the Fresno City Council in September, will increase fees for parks, police, and fire services and will make the fee structure uniform across all parts of the city; previously, only developers building in urban growth management areas of Fresno paid fees. Under the new plan, developers will pay approximately $4,500 in fees per single-family house.
