Balanced Approach

1 MIN READ

Pali underscores the simplicity of the forms with an abbreviated palette of materials and colors: white at the walls, terrazzo floors, and engineered stone counter; glass tiles at the bathing area; and white oak at the cabinets. The fine grain of the materials also plays a part in dialing back the noise of the outside world. The terrazzo is flecked with gray and light brown aggregate. The oak is rift sawn for a very regular grain pattern. The 1-inch-by-4-inch glass tile is laid in a “very linear, almost Japanese pattern.” In the best Modernist fashion, everything lines up, and nothing seems wasted. As a result, Pali says, “It’s very quiet.” Windows wrap one corner, their off-center location supplying gentle, reflected light to the center of the room and warming, direct light to the bathing area.
