Light my fire: The Icon 160T fireplace from Heatilator is the focal point of the great room. The 36-inch-wide wood burning fireplace has a traditional brick pattern refractory. The manufacturer’s Caliber GCDC60 direct-vent gas model was used to warm up the screened porch off of the kitchen.
Good wood: Plank flooring from Bruce Hardwood Floors, milled with micro edges and square ends, lends a contemporary look to this traditional home. Bass used slate inlays to create a medallion threshold, demonstrating the versatility of the Newcastle pattern. The planks, 3/8-inches thick and 3-inches wide, are constructed from northern birch. A factory finish makes for quick installation and consistency of color and finish.
Sitting pretty: With comfortable furniture from Lifestyle Contract Furnishings, the porch becomes an extension of the living space. Four lines were used throughout Homelink–Lexington Home Brands, Drexel Heritage, Henredon, and Summer Classics outdoor furniture. Lifestyle’s program allows builders who meet high-volume requirements to have a larger selection from the company’s many lines. Lifestyle will even arrange installations.
