Grand award: Kitchen in a production home, over 3,000 square feet

1 MIN READ

“Great news for production builders about what’s possible,” said the judges of Piper House, which won a Grand Award. “Elegant and with the times” was the description of a kitchen that draws inspiration from the scullery in an English manor house (dreams of Downton Abbey, anyone?).

Cabinets painted gray update the scullery theme, along with open shelving, contrasting dark window frames, and polished nickel hardware. Thanks to clerestory windows set above work surfaces, natural light spills onto the Carrera marble countertops and bounces off glossy white subway tiles that line the backsplash and extend to the ceiling.

Piper House sets a standard that all model homes should look to. Concluded the judges: “There’s nothing crazy or undoable here.”
