Craftsman-inspired exteriors continue to enjoy popularity. These new designs display decorative trusses, appealing porches, and other timeless touches.

Spacious Walkout Basement

Ideal for a sloping lot, this home welcomes family and friends to stretch out over two levels. The main floor presents an open layout that makes it easy to move from the great room to the open dining area and into the island kitchen. A fireplace creates warm ambiance on the generous screened porch. Owners will love their large walk-in closet and private bathroom with two sinks and a large shower. Downstairs in the finished walkout basement, three more bedrooms house kids or visitors with ease. A rec room in the middle includes a wet bar for easy snack preparation and access to the patio. Sophisticated Style, Flexible Layout

Elegant and easy to get around, this layout places four bedrooms on one level. One of them sits near the front, where it can easily convert to a study when needed. The master suite presents owners with two walk-in closets, access to the back porch, and a deluxe private bathroom. Everyone can gather around the open kitchen, where a snack bar and separate center island provide plenty of room for meal prep and total openness to the great room and casual dining area. A screen porch invites cookouts and cozy evenings by the fireplace when it gets chilly. Upscale details include decorative ceiling treatments, three garage bays, and abundant storage. Very Open Kitchen

With handsome curb appeal and an open layout, this one-story home stands out. Tapered columns and decorative trusses adorn the exterior. Inside, the open layout encourages mingling around the kitchen’s snack bar, with the breakfast nook letting in light through a bay window. A gas fireplace warms up the great room. On the right side of the home, the master suite enjoys access to the back porch, plus two walk-in closets and a private bathroom with a whirlpool tub. Three more bedrooms (one can become a study instead) share a hall bath that boasts dual sinks. Extra storage in the garage comes in handy for stashing holiday decorations. Feature-Filled Starter Home

This attractive starter home (or simple empty nest) presents owners with an open layout and plenty of privacy. The guest bedroom sits near the front, with a full bathroom just a step away in the hall. Tucked away in back, the master suite stretches out with two sinks, a large shower, and a walk-in closet. The decorative ceiling treatment draws the eye up and adds a special touch. Entertaining happens in the open great room, kitchen, and dining room, with the screen porch ready for sheltered time outside. An island adds extra room for cooking in the kitchen. It’s easy to unload groceries from the two-car garage. See more images, information, and the floor plan.
