FourPlans: Small Plans, Big Kitchens

1 MIN READ

There may be a trend toward downsizing, but that doesn’t mean the kitchen has to shrink too. These plans offer affordably modest square footages (none exceed 1,700 square feet) and roomy kitchens with islands, snack bars, and lots of counter space.

Four-Cornered Classic

This classic cottage, just 1,587 square feet, features a full-length porch topped by a gabled pediment and a standing seam metal roof. The compact footprint fits almost anywhere, and the straightforward rectangular plan is efficient to construct. The front porch shades the entry and windows. The kitchen is conveniently split around a center island for maximum use of space. Three generously sized bedrooms are lined up on the left side of this design. The master bedroom is situated at the rear and features a large walk-in closet and dual sinks. The middle bedroom has a walk-in closet, too. Thoughtful Details

The kitchen is at the center of the action in this lovely plan, with the generous island serving the great room. Tray ceilings crown the dining room and master bedroom. The bonus room makes a perfect playroom for kids, separating noise from the common living areas and master bedroom. The master bath is complete with a sizable shower, double vanity, and a garden tub.
