Although he’s best known for his splendid Mediterranean home designs, Dan Sater’s portfolio encompasses a wide range of styles and influences. Here are a few standouts.
Everyday Comfort or Special Getaway
This splendid coastal design works equally well as a vacation cottage or primary home. A striking series of hipped gables adds serious curb appeal. Inside, the two-story great room with its fireplace and built-ins is a short flight up from the foyer. Three sets of French doors give access to the veranda. Nearby, the well-equipped kitchen is perfectly positioned for entertaining. The deluxe master suite completes the first level. Two bedrooms and two full baths, along with a long loft, reside on the second level. One of the guest suites has an attached sundeck. See more images, information, and the floor plan.
Reminiscent of Prairie style with its
stone columns and hipped metal roofline, this plan has much to offer with three
bedrooms, two baths, and 2,042 square feet of living area. A loggia stretches
across the back, with access points from the master suite, the great room, and
even the hall bathroom (convenient for guests to use during a barbecue party).
Inside, the kitchen’s snack bar overlooks the great room. A huge walk-in shower
and soaking tub invite relaxation in the master suite, which enjoys plenty of
privacy in the home’s left wing. For work or reading, the study offers a view
of the front and double doors that open up this space to the great room.
Abundant storage throughout the home includes walk-in closets in every room.
