With the newest Star Wars installment hitting theaters this week, the force is strong for movie-themed products for the home. Fans can outfit their dwellings with a range of products that conjure up a galaxy far, far away and at least one production builder is helping them to envision it.
Toll Brothers has capitalized on the Star Wars frenzy with a child’s bedroom in its Magnolia, Texas, model home (at right). The room is decked out to resemble a scene from the movie, complete with a Pottery Barn Millennium Falcon bed.
Waleska Vega, Toll Texas division senior marketing manager, says the company often applies themes to secondary bedrooms and entertainment areas such as media rooms to create memory points for prospective buyers.
“Timing on selecting these themes is important,” she says. “New model homes are getting more and more specialized. The game is to stand out beyond fancy curtains and color-coordinated bedding.”
