Taylor Morrison has teamed up with HomeAid and Volunteers of America to help remodel six apartment homes in Sacramento for veterans and their families.
“Giving back to our community, particularly to those who have served our country, is something that our company truly believes in,” said Aren Bazzocco, Sacramento Division president for Taylor Morrison. “Providing shelter to those in need is a responsibility that my whole team takes seriously and we feel privileged to be able to make a positive impact on these people’s lives.”
In addition to renovating the brand new apartment homes, Taylor Morrison has created an online registry that allows the community to donate essential items needed to fully furnish the homes for veterans and their families such as bedding, towels, kitchen tools and more. Once construction is complete, Taylor Morrison employees will help make the finishing touches on each home so they are move-in ready for the families. In addition, Taylor Morrison has launched a canned food drive to aid in stocking the pantries in all six homes. Taylor Morrison is encouraging everyone to participate by donating non-perishable food items at any Taylor Morrison Sacramento area community sales center.
Scheduled to be completed this summer, these two bedroom apartment homes have undergone a complete renovation that include new windows, updated kitchens, bathrooms and flooring. Two of the six units will be ADA compliant, complete with wheelchair access.
Taylor Morrison’s trade partners have also been instrumental in the success of this project and are donating their time and materials.
