Media What? A study by technology research group In-Stat found that Microsoft’s Media Center PC—a software platform for managing the digital home—remains on the edge of consumers’ awareness. According to In-Stat, 70 percent of the respondents who did not own a Media Center PC were “unaware” or “barely aware” of the device. The study also found that of those who own Media Center PCs, many still use personal video recorders or digital video recorders for recording TV broadcasts. The study is called “Broadband Digital Homes in North America: Consumers Provide Home Networking Insights.” Visit www.in-stat.com for more information.
