Got Web Site?

An Illinois company makes Internet sites affordable to small builders.

IF YOU’VE PUT OFF CREATING A COMPANY WEB site because of cost, here is some good news: Schaumburg, Ill.–based YourWebPro Inc. now offers small builders and contractors Web sites that include all the bells and whistles of a full-fledged site without the high price tag.

“We wanted to do something for small businesses that often cannot afford to have their own sites,” says company co-founder and CEO Gary Alec Spies. “This gives them the opportunity to have their own Web presence.”

And signing up is so easy it’s “stupidproof,” Spies jokes. Builders log onto www.yourwebpro.com and sign up for the service by entering vital information such as business and site name, headline and banner line, and start choosing Web site style and color. Builders can then upload pictures of past houses grouped by category or style, or they may show pictures of kitchens or baths or whatever else.

“A person can pay $1,000 for a custom Web site and pay recurring fees for hosting,” Spies explains. But with YourWebPro, customization is free, and builders pay only $39.95 per month. The Web site package includes design, set up, traffic reports, e-mail service, hosting, and marketing tools. In addition, no contracts are necessary: The builder pays month to month and can cancel at anytime.
