The New American Home program is a long haul for everyone involved, beginning nearly two years before the house debuts in the host city of the annual International Builders’ Show. A dedicated design-build team, bolstered by a bevy of consultants, shepherded the project through design development, lot preparation, product selection, and construction.

CONSULTANTS: Environments for Living, Daytona Beach, Fla. (green building guidelines); Engineering Services Group, Winter Park, Fla. (structural engineering); Florida Solar Energy Center, Cocoa, Fla. (energy-use consultant); Trifecta Construction Solutions, Naples, Fla. (green building consultant)
