Using the dense list of amenities from their What Home Buyers Really Want survey, the National Association of Home Builders’ special study on upscale buyer preferences rates each feature based on whether buyers rate amenities as “essential/must have,” “desirable,” “indifferent,” or “do not want.” Our modified list and charts below illustrate the amenities luxury buyers consider “essential” or “desirable,” as well as the percentage of high-end buyers who “do not want” that feature in a home.
