If anyone knows about kitchen and bathroom trends, it’s the design professionals at Kohler, one of the country’s largest kitchen and bathroom products manufacturers. The company’s designers have called out some of the most exciting trends they’ve seen this year in their annual Kitchen and Bathroom Trends report.

From a new focus on patterns to bold jewel tone colors, these are some of the hottest ideas your customers will be after this year:

Pattern Play

Don’t be afraid to use patterns and even blend more than one pattern in the same kitchen or bath. For example, this blue, white, and brown kitchen incorporates plenty of patterns without clashing colors or designs. The key lies in the brown countertop, which brings the room together in a harmonious way.

Enhanced White Space

White is by far the most popular color for kitchens and bathrooms, and it carries a variety of potential for personal design touches. This bathroom concept pairs solid white walls with brass accents, titanium bath fixtures, and dark wood features.

Dynamic Duos

The strongest 2017 trends in bathroom and kitchen color are jewel-tone blues and greens, and pairing these choices with complementary colors creates a room with a dramatic impact on the eye.

This galley kitchen’s black accent wall gives dimension to the surrounding emerald-green cabinets.

New Neutrals

The neutral color palette is wider now than ever before, with pale, earthy shades of blue, green, and pink working especially well in smaller spaces. This small Park Avenue powder room’s dark tile floor and translucent glass sink provide tremendous contrast pieces for the dusty pink base color.

Black & Amber

Classic black has moved back into bathroom and kitchen design, especially as black stainless steel appliances enter the market. The Kohler team uses black spaces and appliances in two color contrasts: black and amber, and black and white.

This kitchen concept is given warmth with brass upper cabinets, a bronze backsplash, and an elaborate chandelier. The metallic reflections are key in this look, as they diffuse light and create a warm, cozy atmosphere.

Black & White

With a black-and-white space, heavy color blocking, big stripes, and unexpected patterns make use of high contrast and its emotional impact. In the example master bath, bronze fixtures add a touch of warmth. Amber highlights and bright colors can layer well into these designs.
