YouthBuild Students Help Build a Greener Nation

On March 17, nonprofit youth and community development program YouthBuild held its annual national service day for students in Washington, D.C. The program helps low-income youth with troubled backgrounds gain hands-on construction training and work toward diplomas or GEDs while helping families in their communities by building or remodeling affordable homes. The focus of this year’s YouthBuild AmeriCorps Service Day was focused on green homebuilding techniques that students will take back to their communities and carry with them throughout their careers.
