CalAtlantic Homes (NYSE:CAA) on Wednesday broke ground on Solana Heights, a master-planned community located in the Westside area of Ventura at the northwest corner of Ventura Avenue and School Canyon Road. The new master-planned community will bring three exceptional neighborhoods, encompassing 147 new homes, to Ventura’s housing market.

The community is slated to open for sales this summer.

“The Solana Heights project will help address the City’s housing affordability crisis by increasing the supply, and it supports the continued revitalization of our Westside community,” said Jeffrey Lambert, The City of Ventura’s Community Development Director.

“Solana Heights will bring a truly unique blend of townhome and single-family homes to Ventura’s highly-desirable Westside,” said Elliot Mann, Southern California Coastal Division President for CalAtlantic Homes. “We have designed brand new floor plans that incorporate thoughtful design features intended for today’s lifestyle, blending timeless architecture with casual luxury all within a prestigious, highly-amenitized setting.”

Solana Heights will feature three distinct neighborhoods. Single-family home neighborhoods, Ladera and Barcelo, offer up to 2,971 square feet and contain up to five bedrooms. Pricing starts in the mid $500,000s. Alondra, a townhome collection, will offer up to 2,045 square feet and contain up to four bedrooms. Pricing starts in the mid $400,000s. All of the homes will showcase CalAtlantic Homes’ new architectural concepts including Great Room centered floor plans that meld into gourmet kitchens, outdoor living spaces and luxurious owner’s suites.

Located just two miles from Ventura’s downtown, Solana Heights is situated close to local freeways including the US-101 and SR-33, sandy beaches, sought-after shopping and dining, Ojai, and Santa Barbara. Solana Heights will offer residents a host of family-friendly amenities including three new neighborhood parks totaling one-and-one-half acres of outdoor gathering spaces with play equipment, picnic tables and barbeques, and a gated dog park. Ventura’s coastal climate offers ample opportunity for outdoor activities with a vibrant harbor atmosphere, surfing and boating, biking at Los Padres National Forest and hiking in the Santa Monica wilderness.
