Bridgeland, a master planned community in northwest Houston owned by the Howard Hughes Corp., has announced its newest addition.
Based on the overall concept of living within a park, Parkland Village will draw from the Prairie School style of architecture. The new village will continue Bridgeland’s focus on community and neighborhood connections, maintaining the overall theme of locating a park no more than a quarter-mile from every home in the community.
In addition, Parkland Village will offer meadow-like plantings, wildflowers, pockets of forestation and ornamental grasses layered throughout the village’s open spaces.
Home builders announced for Parkland Village include Beazer Homes, Chesmar Homes, Coventry Homes, Darling Homes, Highland Homes, Lennar, M/I Homes, Newmark Homes, Perry Homes, Ravenna Homes, Taylor Morrison, Trendmaker Homes, Village Builders and Westin Homes.
Serving as a transitional space between Parkland Village and the already-existing Lakeland Village community will be Bridgeland’s latest amenity, Josey Lake. Designed as a recreational hub for the two villages, the 140-acre lake will include a kayak pavilion, main pavilion, event lawn and observational birding tower. Parkland Village is the second of four eventual villages at Bridgeland, which is managed by the Woodlands Development Co. Each village will offer its own unique take on living in the community, with conservation a top priority for each village.
