Landmark Properties has announced the start of the second development in its build-to-rent division. In partnership with Principal Real Estate Investors, The Everstead at Windrose will add 194 townhouses, single-family, and cottage-style homes to Spring, Texas.

Set to begin construction this month, the gated community will provide residents access to high-quality, shared amenities featuring a resort-style swimming pool, a fitness center, a coffee bar, a playground, a grilling area, a dog park, a hammock garden, and a bocce ball court. The development plans to incorporate sustainable features and is expected to achieve the National Green Building Standard bronze certification.

“Landmark is excited to kick off our partnership with Principal, and we look forward to developing a first-class neighborhood with The Everstead at Windrose,” says Landmark Properties president and CEO Wes Rogers. “With nearly 30 BTR projects in the pipeline, our fully integrated platform is well-positioned to quickly expand our single-family rental portfolio despite the distress in capital markets.”

The BTR homes will offer quartz countertops, stainless-steel appliances, large pantries, full-size washers and dryers, ceiling fans, walk-in closets for the main bedroom, and backyards with private patios. Some units will feature 10-foot ceilings and an attached garage or storage room. The community is expected to be completed in 2024.

“The neighborhood where The Everstead at Windrose is being developed is near a master-planned community with single-family homes, award-winning schools, and attractive retail amenities,” says Blair Sweeney, managing director of development for Landmark’s build-to-rent division. “We are excited to provide residents and their families an opportunity to live in a single-family style home in a compelling location while enjoying amenities and service typical of a condominium community.”

Landmark’s build-to-rent division was established in 2021 and will bring more single-family homes on the market to meet current demand across the country. In Madison, Alabama, Landmark has begun construction on its first BTR development, The Everstead at Madison. The community will be comprised of 231 townhouses, single-family, and cottage-style homes.

Of similar finishes to The Everstead at Windrose, some units will feature an attached garage. Also gated, residents will have access to shared amenities including a pool, a fitness center, a playground, a dog park, and more. Landmark anticipates the first homes of The Everstead at Madison to be delivered in 2023, with full completion of the neighborhood in 2024.
