Merit Award: Echelon at Uptown

Orlando, Fla.

1 MIN READ

Echelon at Uptown is the first market-rate multifamily rental project in Orlando’s central business district in 40 years. The building achieves an “industrial-light” feel with glass storefronts, and a double-height leasing office with exposed ductwork and trusses. A combination of metal and wood framing kept construction costs low, and sealed concrete corridors in lieu of carpeting save money on maintenance. The 244-unit project has 14 floor plans ranging in size from 642 to 1,695 square feet. Most units have a balcony or balconette.
