Delray Beach, Fla.-based Akel Homes has opened its model homes and started new home sales at Villamar at Toscana Isles, a gated community of 208 single-family homes in Lake Worth, Fla.

The community will offer a total of 12 one- and two-story floor plans, priced starting from the $400,000s. The homes range from 1,809 to 2,980 square feet in size with two to six bedrooms, two to four bathroom and two- or three-car garages. Exterior options include Contemporary Spanish and Transitional, with a modern premium elevation available soon. A Design Studio is available on the community site for new home customization.

Villamar’s homes are designed to surpass Florida Building Code requirements, with a particular focus on hurricane resistance. To this end, in lieu of wood-frame construction, the homes will be constructed from complete concrete block on both the first and second floor, without any compromise to interior or exterior aesthetics. Additional resilient features include impact-rated windows and gypcrete subflooring.

“Building better starts with designing better. Many of our competitors focus on design at the expense of construction quality. At Akel Homes, form and function are in complete equilibrium,” says Alexander Akel, co-president of Akel Homes. “We’re also ahead of the curve with respect to green construction and smart home features.”

Each of the homes will include energy-efficient features as standard, including tankless water heaters, 16 SEER AC units, low-emissivity windows and LED light bulbs. The smart home tech package, also standard, will equip every home with a smart front-entry keypad, video doorbell, thermostat, garage door opener, light switch and home control center.

The community is located in what Akel calls a “Goldilocks” location in Palm Beach County – close to the beaches and the freeway in either direction. “Villamar is just three minutes west of I-95,” says Akel. “Anyone living here can feel like they’re living in a resort-style community with quick access to the entertainment, dining and shopping destinations like West Palm Beach and Downtown Delray.”

Amenities will include a 3,600-square-foot clubhouse with a catering kitchen, great room, and fitness center; a resort-style pool and tot lot; and a tennis court and half-basketball court.
