Nestled in the barbecue capital of Texas, regional builder Perry Homes is scaling smart growth with a 1,400-home master-planned community rooted in quality and affordability.
Resort-style amenities and a new elementary school, with enrollment expected to open for fall 2025, will serve the soon-to-be growing community coined Juniper Springs while a network of walking and biking trails along a natural creek will connect the neighborhoods and the amenities that will be set within the center of the community.
“Juniper Springs is a legacy project for us, and we are proud to partner with the city of Lockhart and Lockhart ISD to provide an ideal location for families and active adults in all stages of life,” says Chris Little, president of Perry Homes in Central Texas.
“The land on which Juniper Springs sits is truly special, and we are committed to keeping over one third of it as open space for our homeowners to enjoy while they commune with nature.”

What sparked the new community in Lockhart?
First, we really believe in the city of Lockhart. It’s full of all of the great things in life – nature, food, art, community, charm. Additionally, the land that Juniper Springs sits on is a special and unique piece of property where we could stay committed to keeping over one-third of it as open space. We also greatly value our partnership with the school district, so much so that the first vertical building in the community is the brand-new elementary school, Borchert Loop Elementary.
What will set Juniper Springs apart from other MPCs in the state?
What makes Juniper Springs unique is its beautiful scenery, connection to nature, and proximity to the unique town of Lockhart, with its well-known barbecue and art scene. The community is situated against a backdrop of rolling hills and a spring-fed creek, with a network of scenic trails that connect the neighborhood to nature. Additionally, residents are a short drive to world-class barbecue, multiple art galleries, and various local Lockhart business, while only being a short drive from all the additional amenities Austin has to offer.
Is there a timeline on phases or how many homes will be under construction by end of year?
Juniper Springs is a legacy project for Perry Homes, with three product lines launching in the first phase and multiple phases that will be built over a number of years. We plan to continue to listen to our homeowners and deliver the product lines that the market demands in future phases.
Can you share more on the product sizes and living options?
Juniper Springs will feature 45’, 50’ and 60’ lots in phase one and approximately 1,400 homes that are ideal for families and active adults at every stage.
