The greater Austin metro is getting its first micro-home community in San Marcos, Texas. Developed by Casata, the 210-unit rental community will offer attainable one- and two-bedroom single-family homes ranging from 512 to 806 square feet.

“Casata San Marcos is a rental community comprised of individual homes that are technologically advanced, energy-efficient, and beautifully designed with a warm yet contemporary aesthetic,” says Casata co-founder Noah Pollack. “This is a truly standout concept that melds environmental sensitivity and community.”

Casata San Marcos’ unique living experience will focus on privacy while instilling a sense of pride of ownership and thoughtful amenities will prompt community interaction. All designed around existing landscaping and trees, there will be a community center, a pool, pocket parks, dog runs, and an exercise facility. Many units will feature front porches.

“When it comes to tackling the current housing crisis, Casata San Marcos is both an innovative breakthrough and a breath of fresh air,” says San Marcos mayor Jane Hughson. “The concept of building micro-homes gives more families the opportunity to live and thrive in our community. It’s absolutely essential for our future.”

The new development follows the builder’s successful launch of its first micro-home community, Casata Austin. Significant market growth and increased employment made San Marcos a critical area of focus, Casata says.

“We’re seeing strong demand for more housing, especially innovative housing options, in the San Marcos area,” says Casata co-founder and innovator Aaron Levy. “We’re thrilled to be able to bring more options for residents here.”
