David Weekley Homes has introduced a new affordable product at Carnes Crossroads, a 2,300-acre master planned community located in Summerville, near Charleston, South Carolina.
Dubbed The Carnes Crossroads Paired Homes, the houses are designed for individuals who want the same high-quality features and finishes found in many of the builder’s single-family homes but at a price that’s easier on the budget. Ranging in size from 1,700 – 2,300 square feet, the attached homes are designed to be built two per building, allowing homeowners to split the cost of exterior maintenance with their neighbors.
“We know how important it is for buyers to find the perfectly appointed home, but many times the location, finishes and details that people desire drive the price beyond their budget,” says Chuck Buck, broker-in-charge at Carnes Crossroads Real Estate. “The Carnes Crossroads Paired Homes present some building efficiencies that bring the base price down, allowing buyers to get into a community they might otherwise not be able to afford, or to incorporate a higher level of finishing that would blow their budget on a typical single-family home.”
The Carnes Crossroads Paired Homes are being built by David Weekley Homes in the master planned community’s newest neighborhood, St. James Park. Starting in the $200,000s, they feature versatile floorplans and include many of the advantages of a typical new home, including some plans with first floor master bedroom suites and energy-efficient systems that help reduce utility costs.
“We are excited about the Carnes Crossroads Paired Homes,” said Bubba Reynolds, project manager for David Weekley Homes. “This is a new product for us in Charleston and it increases the affordability of our offerings in Carnes Crossroads.”
The Carnes Crossroads Paired Homes are the newest residential offerings within the community, which also features single-family homes from Sabal Homes, Eastwood Homes, Ashton Woods and John Wieland Homes, plus apartments and assisted living options. Approximately 150 families now call Carnes Crossroads home.
Amenities including a growing network of trails, parks, a swimming pool and a refurbished historic Green Barn that serves as an open-air venue for community events are among the attractions within the community. Residents also have easy access to the first commercial offerings at Carnes Crossroads, including a church, school, medical offices and other services. Construction has begun on a 90-acre medical campus that will be home to Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital, scheduled to open in 2019.
