Freehold Communities sold the remainder of its Arden community in Florida’s Palm Beach County to Lennar, which will complete the buildout of the community. Arden, located in Wellington, is approved for more than 2,300 homes in one of Florida’s first “agrihoods”—in which fresh foods grown on site are an integral component of an active lifestyle.
Miami-based Lennar has already built many of the homes in Arden and will complete the buildout consistent with the standards and resident focus that have previously been in effect at the community, according to the builder. As part of the transition, Lennar will become the declarant of Arden’s homeowners’ association; Freehold says it will remain involved with the community for an extended period.
The Arden community includes 175 acres of lakes, including a mile-long central lake, 20 miles of trails, and 500 acres of parks, playgrounds, and green space. The community features a 5-acre farm and event barn that offer fruits, vegetables, and herbs shared among the residents. Arden is located closed to major employment centers, beaches, shopping, dining destinations, and top-rated medical centers.

Lennar Palm Atlantic division president Michael Meyers says Arden will be an “important addition” to the builder’s South Florida portfolio and will help meet demand for “new homes in vibrant communities.”
