Dallas-based builder HistoryMaker Homes has announced plans to double its number of Houston homes under construction in response to post-Hurricane Harvey demand.

Recognizing that some Harvey victims are choosing to buy rather than rebuild, HistoryMaker is expanding its home offerings in the Houston market, and has opened three model homes in the past three weeks.

“Having experienced Harvey’s wrath personally, it is still hard to fathom what thousands of families displaced by Hurricane Harvey are going through,” says Mickey Pizzitola, Houston division president. “While many are able to rebuild, others are making different decisions and want to get resettled as soon as possible. We are expanding our offering of available homes in all of our communities to provide additional options for those displaced by the unprecedented rainfall.”

HistoryMaker’s recently opened, Houston-area model homes can be found in Balmoral in Humble, Country Lake Estates and Wright’s Landing in Spring, and The Lakes at Mason Park in Katy. Homes are priced from the low $200,000s to the $300,000s.

HistoryMaker also announced that it is partnering with mortgage providers who offer hurricane relief programs and developing additional aid initiatives.
