New Mexico–based home builder Hakes Brothers announced its expansion into the Kansas City, Kansas, area by opening two new residential communities.

This move represents another significant milestone for the company, as it continues to grow its presence and provide new homes and construction services to customers across the country.

“Kansas City has been so welcoming, and we look forward to sharing the Hakes Brothers’ new-home experience with this area,” says Chris Hakes, division president for Hakes Brothers. “Along with building beautiful homes that fit the family budget, our team’s top priority is customer service.”

This initial launch includes a new-home development at The Branches in Leavenworth, Kansas, at the northwest side of the city and GrayHawk in Basehor, Kansas, directly to the west.

Founded in 2006, the company has grown to become one of the largest home builders in New Mexico, helping over 4,000 families find a home that best fits their lifestyle.

In 2021, Hakes Brothers reported 751 home closings and jumped from their previous rank at No. 115 on the 2021 Next 100 to No. 85 on the 2022 Builder 100.

Three years ago, during the peak of the pandemic, the builder announced its expansion into San Antonio.

“San Antonio was a no-brainer for us,” said Dan Nielsen, president of Hakes Brothers, Rio Grande division, at the time. “The city’s vibrant growth, especially among military families, allows us to bring our quality and craftsmanship to a new group of home buyers in east Texas.”

With the addition of the Kansas market, the company’s locations now include Albuquerque and Las Cruces, New Mexico, El Paso and San Antonio, Texas, and Kansas City.
