Mattamy Homes on Wednesday broke ground on WaterSong in the master-planned community of RiverTown along the St. Johns River, in St. Johns County, Florida, the builder’s first age-restricted community in the U.S.

Model-home construction is scheduled to begin this summer and VIP sales will start in fall 2019. At completion, WaterSong will be located on 260 acres, feature more than 800 villas and single-family homes, a designated clubhouse and access to all of the world-class amenities at RiverTown.

“Our team is delighted to be celebrating this tremendous Mattamy milestone along with community leaders and partners here in Jacksonville,” said Cliff Nelson, Jacksonville division president for Mattamy Homes. “We look forward to delivering the same exceptional customer experience to the thriving active adult market with WaterSong and know our loyal homeowners are thrilled to have us entering the age-restricted space.”

RiverTown, which features views of the picturesque river, miles of winding walking and biking trails, and country-club-style amenities is just a short drive from Jacksonville’s world-class sports, arts and entertainment. The decision to add WaterSong to the thriving RiverTown community continues to reinforce Mattamy’s strong commitment to Florida and the US with this major foray into the age-restricted market.
