Cultivating a fun environment for employees, Newmark Homes is listed at No. 7 on the list of “Houston’s Top Workplaces” published recently by the Houston Chronicle.

For the third time, Houston, Tex.- based Newmark Homes has kept its status as one of the Top 10 Small Companies on the Houston Chronicle’s annual list of Houston’s Top Workplaces. The company now ranks at No. 7, up from its No. 8 spot in 2015, and is currently the highest-ranked home builder on both the Top 10 Small Companies list and the full Top Workplaces list, which covers all Houston-area employers.

This list is compiled each year for the Houston Chronicle by the WorkplaceDynamics research firm, which bases its findings solely on feedback from employee surveys. Nearly 77,000 Houston-area employees participated in the 2016 survey, which asked respondents to rate their employers based on whether they felt appreciated, the value of their pay and benefits, and their work environment. This is Newmark’s fifth consecutive year on the overall list, which began publication in 2010.

In their responses to the WorkplaceDynamics surveys, Newmark Homes employees indicated that they appreciated the support of their management, as well as their willingness to hear new ideas. Respondents also expressed their appreciation for the company’s quarterly update policy and open channels of communication.

“We feel like our most important customers are our employees,” said Mike Moody, president of Newmark Homes, in a release. “We encourage them to have a voice in what we do and how we do it and reward them for their efforts. We see the care we give our employees translate into exceptional service to our home buyers.”

Newmark Homes, which also builds as Federick, Harris Estate Homes, is currently No. 101 on the BUILDER 100 Next 100 list. It has about 70 employees and a current building presence in 11 Houston-area housing developments.
