By Alison Rice. KB Home continued its southeastern expansion with the purchase of Atlanta-based Colony Homes in March. Terms of the deal were not disclosed; Colony concentrates on entry-level product, and closed 1,872 homes last year in Atlanta, Raleigh, N.C., and Charlotte, N.C.
Technical Olympic USA has also added to its holdings, purchasing Denver townhouse builder The James Co. for $30 million in cash. Technical Olympic already builds in Denver under the Engle Homes brand.
