Freedom of Speech

By Scott Milano

On August 8, outside the NAHB headquarters in Washington, six protesters rallied against NAHB staffer, Ken Ford. They demanded Ford resign from his vice-chair position at Pacifica Radio, a public radio network. According to the protesters, Ford squandered Pacifica’s funds and encouraged the sale of public stations to private, commercial radio networks. In response, Jerry Howard, executive vice president of the NAHB, viewed the protest as “totally irrelevant to the business of the NAHB.”
