National Association of Home Builders economist Natalia S. Siniavskaia focuses on the recently released its 2014 Priced Out Estimatesshowing that, nationally, a $1,000 increase in the median new home price (triggered, for example, by additional regulation) prices 206,269 households out of the market for the home. So, yes, new homes, in many cases, cost too much.
