Housing Prices Rise

By Carolyn Weber The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight reports that the largest increases in home prices over the past five years were in: Massachusetts, 64.7 percent; the District of Columbia, 60.9 percent; New Hampshire, 59.0 percent; California, 58.9 percent; Minnesota, 53.6 percent; and Colorado, 53.5 percent. States with the lowest increases over the past five years were: Hawaii, 8.2 percent; New Mexico, 15.7 percent; Alaska, 20.0 percent; Nevada, 20.5 percent; Idaho, 20.8 percent; and Utah, 21.2 percent. The national average was 36.89 percent.
