FROM THE ARCHITECTS:
The house features two volumes, the smaller of which is pushed back to allow more views of the outdoors from the main volume. The open-plan main living space, master bedroom suite, and a spacious workroom are located in the larger volume. A two-bedroom guest suite is located above the garage in the smaller volume. To accommodate the owner’s art collection, vertical windows provide an abundance of light yet minimize their consumption of wall space. The exterior siding echoes that verticality in Hardiboard®, corrugated metal, and cypress accents.
