This Merit award-winning powder room presents the obvious small-space challenges — but it also offers opportunities. The tucked-away, hard-working room is a the perfect chance to use interesting materials, bold colors, and unusual fixtures. It’s just the place for finishings that might be overkill in a larger space or impractical in a bath that sees heavy use. The Baileyana powder room occupies its 32 square feet with an accomplished mix of elements—hexagonal wall tile, oval stone sink, walnut cabinets, simple wall fixtures–and does so with a sense of fun, riffing on the Mediterranean architectural style of the house.
