Project Description
FROM THE BUILDER:
Eastman House is a small barn house which combines barn architecture with cottage style, utilizing an open-concept plan. Designed to sit on an existing foundation, the house suits a number of different lifestyles, from age-in-place to just starting out, with room for expansion built into the plans.
The small barn house plan (1,830 square feet) is another YBH design in conjunction with Creative Director, Jeffrey Rosen. This time Jeff turns his attention to a smaller post and beam plan, but one no less effective in terms of spaciousness and light. The open floor plan we’ve come to know remains in tact, with the master bedroom suite located on the first level. The entry, kitchen, dining and living room areas are open to a ceiling which reaches 17 feet at its height, featuring the architectural beauty of the post and beam frame. The often-requested design of a half bath/laundry and mud room combination creates the perfect buffer between the kitchen and attached garage. Maximum space and storage use is in full effect throughout the small barn house. The second level is primarily open to below, save one bedroom with full bath located at the top of the stairs.
