Project Description
MIT’s experimental theater program provides theater students with an in-depth experience in the performing arts through coursework in acting, set and costume design, lighting, production, film and video. To make way for a large research development project in Kendall Square, Theater Arts was relocated from its original home in the Rinaldi Tile Building to a pair anonymous warehouse buildings on Vassar St. in Cambridgeport. Working together with the theater director and faculty, designLAB created a state-of the art production and performance facility that retains the ‘raw creative’ environment of their previous industrial space.
