Project Description

A local chef turned a residential villa into a contemporary Congolese cuisine restaurant with thatched traditional paillottes as outdoor dining area in the garden. A fantastic solution for the local climate.

Commissioned to formalize the outdoor dining area as the second phase of the restaurant, this Grand Pavilion scheme is designed to accommodate outdoor seating with a bar, enclosed glazed dinning and meeting room/s, elevated dining and bar seating. It is a versatile space that can be used to host events such as parties, weddings, and even light concerts.

The structure is simple in its composition with a forest of slim round columns capped by a concrete slab as canopy offering a double volume well ventilated outdoor seating area enclosed with four screens and a shorter slab used both as roof for the enclosed and glazed private seating, and as floor for the elevated seating area.
