Project Description

Shiloh Village is a four story senior apartment community located within the New Shiloh Baptist Church’s campus. The project consists of 81 apartments within the urban residential neighborhood of Druid Hill Park.

The goal of New Shiloh Village was to create a high-quality, affordable housing community for seniors while incorporating energy efficient and green design. Green features include low VOC carpet and paint, energy efficient “Energy Star” appliances, well-insulated windows, extra wall insulation and water conserving plumbing fixtures. These features contribute to the health of the residents while reducing utility bills for the low to moderate-income senior residents.

The brick exterior of the building compliments the existing context of the rowhomes in the surrounding neighborhood. A small welcoming courtyard is located on the entry side of the building. Balconies and a deep overhang add depth and interest to the facade.
