Real estate veterans Brian Bair and Jerry Coleman teamed up in 2015 with the goal of empowering home buyers and sellers. Together they launched OfferPad, a platform that leverages technology to offer homeowners the convenience and certainty that is sometimes lacking in the traditional home sales process by putting them in control of when they sell, close, and move. Users simply fill out an online form about their home, which the OfferPad team then reviews. The homeowners receive an email with the top purchase offer. If they choose to accept, they then select a closing date within a five- to 90-day window, and electronically sign the purchase contract. OfferPad is currently active in seven markets—Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Tampa and Orlando in Florida—with more markets coming soon.
