Shaping and directing green building practices.

McLennan’s devotion to green building stems from growing up in Sudbury, Ontario, a place stripped of nature to profit from nickel mining. He strives to address climate change, habitat and species loss, and social inequities while elevating regenerative design solutions.

McLennan has inspired others to join the Living Building Challenge to build the world’s greenest office buildings, which use materials free of toxins and are self sufficient in terms of energy and water use. This program and others fostered by his organization have led to new thinking and scalable practices for green design.
