For bringing family-friendly, purpose-built, sharing-economy community to city-based vertical living.

What You Need To Know

Kin, a collaborative venture between global real estate property giant Tishman Speyer and co-living startup Common, blends a bundle of technology-enabled, family-centered home-as-a-service offerings in a physical space set up for co-living. Kin offers on-demand child care and custom-designed shared play spaces, along with common amenities, serviced apartments, and a community created through proximity and an in-house mobile app.

Who’s Involved

Tishman Speyer is a global owner-operator in 28 countries with $88 billion in property assets, and Common, led by founder and CEO Brad Hargreaves, operates 24 buildings in six U.S. cities.

Time Stamp

Plans for ground-up Kin developments, to be built in and around cities across the United States, are slated to be announced later this year. In the meantime the app launched in Jackson Park, Tishman Speyer’s new 1,800-unit rental development in New York’s Long Island City, Queens, in May.
