Pyatok Architects

Led by founding architect Michael Pyatok, Pyatok Architects works to foster the development of vibrant, sustainable, inclusive communities through sensitive architecture and urban design, education, service, and technical innovation. The Oakland architect is the recipient of the AIA’s Thomas Jefferson Award, which is granted to individuals who demonstrate a commitment to design that recognizes public buildings as an integral part of the country’s cultural heritage—such as the community centers, health centers, and low-income residences Pyatok has spent much of his career designing.

The former professor founded the firm in 1984 and has been recognized for projects that have moved the needle on the nation’s commitment to developing communities and resources for low-income Americans.
