Architects Stephen Kieran and James Timberlake have long been committed to examining the data behind their high-performance projects. Both industry-leading authors and college professors, they are on the cutting edge of new construction methods and uses of building materials.

To determine if the products they specify actually make a difference, the pair developed a system of sensors that gather information from products. This network of thermal and moisture sensors, now commercialized as Pointelist, is now installed in dozens of projects to gather temperature and relative-humidity data.
